Treatment for Obesity.
There is an issue I have not written about before but should be addressed because it does impact our environment and that is obesity. Not only is obesity a physically harmful condition but it also leads to excess waste that must be disposed of, since excess consumption leads to excess waste. The best way, all around, is to treat the obesity and everything else will follow. Probably the best way we currently have for treating this condition is a minimally invasive, laparoscopic surgery, to attach a small device known as the LAP-BAND® System. The doctor makes small incisions to allow an inflatable silicon strap to be placed at the upper portion of the stomach. The LAP-BAND® System is adjusted like a wristwatch to control the amount of food ingested thereby creating a feeling of fullness, all the while reducing the amount of food consumed. People who have done this procedure have seen dramatic weight differences, for the better. Obesity is a leading cause of Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) and Diabetes in America. Further information can be obtained from Dr. Richard Collier, the first surgeon in Montgomery, Texas to be certified in the application of the LAP-BAND® System from Allergan Health, the developer of the Lap-Band. Dr. Collier is a Lap-Band Surgery Specialist who has performed thousands of laparoscopic surgeries since these procedures became available to general surgeons in 1989. For more information go to Dr. Collier's website where there is a wealth of information and helpful links available.
