Home Environmental Tips 46-50

These informational tips have allowed me to saves hundreds of dollars in home repairs and improvements and I'd like to share some of these tips with you to get you into the mood to do 'stuff' around your home!

#46 Night Lights - Environmental safety product especially useful on stairs, where falls cause about 4,000 deaths per year.

#47 Light Dimmer - Simple device that can help you save on lighting costs.

#48 Electric Timer - Simple energy savings and security product.

#49 Compact Fluorescent Lighting - Major energy saver. CFL's can provide the same light as a similarly rated incandescent bulb using much lower wattage. Special disposal is highly recommended for environmental reasons. Do Not Throw in Trash!

#50 Low Voltage/Solar Outdoor Lighting - Simple lighting setup for outdoor perimeter lighting. Solar is fine but will decrease in intensity as hours go by, low voltage can provide bright LED lighting at minimal cost at a constant level and can be controlled with a light sensor switch for daylight shutdown.

I will continue to bring you more of these valuable tips for you to read and enjoy.

I am a sneak! I have CFL's in several lighting fixtures that my wife hasn't realized yet. She says she doesn't like them when she knows about them but no complaints on the ones she doesn't know about! ;)

Thanks for the post, Karen.
