In a typical day I use my GPS at least twice, going to and coming from work. Why would I use it for the same purpose everyday? That's easy, it also gives me real-time traffic updates and lets me know if I'm ahead of schedule or not, as well as allow me to choose alternate routes if my main roads are slowed or stopped. Believe it or not, my GPS allows me to sleep longer in the morning because I know where I am at all times and lets me know when I need to pick up the pace. If I'm a little tired at the beginning or end of the day it also reminds me in clear language that my turn is coming, how far away it is and when I'm at it. At first I thought it was 'cute' then I thought maybe it was annoying but I really grew to rely on it more than I thought I would. My GPS became one of my daily tools I grew to rely on to complete my day. There are many models out there but some are more widely recognized for their reliability than others, such as Garmin and Tom Tom. They both offer many models and prices to choose from depending on what you need now and what you may need in the future. You never want to limit yourself unless you don't mind repurchasing when new needs arise. I prefer a 3D color screen and a talking prompt so I don't have to spend any time looking at the screen while I drive. Much safer as well! If you can get a unit that has real-time traffic updates and you use the highway a lot it is well worth it. Some units have this as an included feature, check descriptions for details on what is included. When you do get a GPS unit I do not recommend that you turn on all the options right away. The screen will be confusing at first and you only need to select the options you will need, or want to try. By all means, try them all but keep your screen simple so a quick look while driving will tell you everything you need without hunting for it. Be Safe, Drive Safe and let your GPS take over the mundane part of driving!
