These aren't what anybody, except the top 1%, will ever call 'the good ole days' by any means. We've seen the factories close, the stores close, and even the car dealerships representing brands of cars we grew up with close. The 'blue collar' workforce has taken a significant hit and many have been out of work for upwards of a year now. The lesser publicized group of impacted individuals come from the 'white collar' domain, made up primarily from manager up to CEO's. What do these folks do when the headsman comes a swingin'? They either collapse from the inability to market themselves efficiently or they come out swinging. The new emphasis today is leadership, not management. You can teach and idiot to manage (many have seem such a manager) but you can't teach one to lead. Organizations need qualified leaders that are ready to bring their company's out of the darkness and successfully motivate those that they lead into a well oiled labor machine, primed for the new era to come.
In the past what B.S. grads would do is continue into a MBA program while they worked and figured that would be the golden ticket to brilliant careers and riches. There are MBA's working for McDonalds just to make ends meet right now. This is the truth! It has come to that and in some cases worse. What these people did was to touch upon Organizational Development, which was not enough! Not enough for the future job market and new business strategies about to become realized. The driving force behind tomorrows future business leaders is Organizational Leadership! That's right - LEADERSHIP! A knowledgeable and confident leader draws people to them! They put their trust in them! They want to succeed WITH them! With busy schedules and work demands the only way any motivated self-starters can achieve this training is by Online masters programs run by qualified centers of education that are keyed into the marketplace and it's demands for time and money. Instead of saying a few years down the road how you wished you'd done something back then, you could say you were glad you did it back then when others didn't. Who would have the choice of careers then?
