Things We Stop Thinking About in the Fall
The weather is getting cooler again(thank goodness) and most people are getting in the mood for Fall. What does Fall mean? Fall means the falling down of all those New Years resolutions that promised to be good and eat right and sleep 8 hours every day and give up smoking and quit doing drinking too much, etc, etc, etc. Now is when thoughts turn to turkey and pie and deserts a plenty. It's harvest time and you need to put it somewhere, right? This is when people don't think about taking that long walk, having a salad before the meal to suppress the appetite, eating right, taking weight loss diet pills to keep trimming down, those promised sit-ups, having that extra drink after work, sleeping 5 hours a night. Did I say not eating right? Probably. The stress to excess this time of year is great. Thanksgiving should have been in August just to break things up a bit and curb the binge eating that occurs normally between November and January. We all tend to get selective memory loss about those resolutions and console ourselves by anticipating the next New Years resolution that you'll definitely keep!
