Mounting a Plasma to the Wall.

I recently did something that I've never done before, I mounted a large plasma TV to the living room wall, alone. Talk about being nervous. The things that I was most concerned with were the level of the set and the height. The leveling was easier than I thought it would be due to 2 items I bought years ago, a really good quality laser level light and a 4' construction level. I purchased these when I rebuilt a 2 story rear porch on to a 2 story house in Massachusetts to replace the existing one. That was also a first and it's still standing to this day with no noises or movement at all. I used a step stool top hold the panel from the front of the box up on the wall to let everyone view the various heights and then set my TV top mark. That was the easy part! Now I had to figure from the top of the set to the top of the mounting bracket that attached to the wall. I got my height and got out the laser. When I got a good bubble on the laser that ran through my mark on the wall I spotted where the screws needed to be drilled in and went to town on it. Once it was mounted I got the 4' level out to verify that I didn't screw it up and to my happiness it was right on bubble. The rest, except for actually picking up and mounting the set, was pretty easy. The whole job took less than 1 hour with an inexperienced TV mounting person - me! One important note though, make sure ALL plugs and wires are attached to the rear of the set before mounting to the bracket. I learned that lesson the hard way and had to take down and remount the set to do this. Also a safety tip! Do not use a step stool by yourself to actually mount the set to the wall. If height and lifting are an issue have two people use step stools at the same time at each end and place stools right to the wall for safety.
