It's Awards Time Again, But for What?

That's right, it's time for more awards to be handed out to the people who get paid to pretend and to those that don't. The Emmy Awards are an annual pat on the back to the performers of television who think they've made a positive impact on our society by keeping us in front of our televisions sets instead of getting out and enjoying life, as we know it. On the other hand we have the AVN Awards sponsored by the Adult Video News. These awards are for more, shall I say, athletic performances. The Emmys feature lots and lots of shallow people parading around in fishnet stockings trying to act like they did something great but don't want to appear anxious for an award, which invariably translates into a bigger paycheck. The AVN performers conversely will parade around in fishnet tops while their performances leave nothing to the imagination, except how much they really acted! The bottom line is that they're both stocked with the same performers, except one set have much fewer inhibitions than the other. Given the option of working when there's no work on TV anymore you'd see the AVN awards swell with new talent looking for new recognition. Once an actor always an actor!
