Power At Any Cost!

Not as ominous as it may sound in these days of political wrangling. I'm referring to portable electric power. The lithium, nickel and cadiums are all in the forefront while the lowly dry cell batteries live on peg hooks near the registers in the retail stores waiting for the need of a flashlight replacement or a radio to power during it's short but useful lifespan. Today we have 9 volt rechargeable's , D cells, C cells, AAA cells, and the ever so dominant and most heavily relied upon battery probably of all time, the AA rechargeable batteries. The AA battery has become the workhorse of a new age where smaller is better, unless it's for watching movies on a portable screen such as an ipad or kindle, to name but two. The new breed of cellphone is exempt from these rules as they need a different version of the rechargeable. They need a longer lasting battery that will not last that long due to regular use. That's interesting, a long lasting battery that doesn't last long! We have become a cell slave civilization. We can't get along, let alone exist, without our communication connections. Remember the cell phones give cancer stories? Not now, I have to make a call!
