The Timing Isn't Right, It's Too Soon.
That's right, the timing is too soon. I started having those nasty painful episodes with the joints in my fingers and I'm regretfully thinking it might be the beginning of the A word. I don't think 54 is old enough for that. Maybe 64 or so is more age appropriate but the other thing is that at work I use my hands an awful lots and to some degree there is repetition in most of the movements I need to do. I find myself looking at the pill aisle and looking for the phrase "arthritis pain relief" on the package and then picking something else out of denial I guess. There are other factors I think have contributed to my joint pain and also my loss of good flexibility and that's my weight. I don't even want to know what my BMI is. I think that would probably depress me too much and make me revert to doing less activity besides work. I have to see the doctor about my constant congestion and I'll add the joint pain in instead of doing it in two pricey appointments!

You Gotta Love It
You gotta love it, I know I do along with most of the people I work with at night. Do I love working at night? It's better than the politics of daytime, sure. I love it because we don't have restrictions on what we listen to while we work. More specifically, we can listen to our favorite movies and music videos while we do our thing, sometimes we may peek a little. Right! I don't know too many people that don't own an iPod and a few own the iPad as well. In the beginning it was harder to get the right format films and videos on the web but now it really doesn't matter in the least, except for really large video files like Ben Hur or something(runs down my battery before it ends). I like to watch within the capacity of my battery, which I recharge on the drive home each day. The iPod Converter allows me to take my existing videos and convert them to the iPod format easily and quickly, movies on the run so to speak. The hardest thing I have to do is to actually chose what I want to watch each evening. The interface is easy enough for even a newbie to use. The only format I haven't seen a conversion for is Flash Video like from that big homemade video web site, just about every other format that I'm aware of is fair game for conversion though! For those who are Apple devotees there's an iPod Converter for Mac as well. I don't want to get into the Windows/Mac wars to I'll step back right about here and say it's results that count and leave it at that, enough said and the bottom line is all good!
The converters will, in actuality, reformat a copy of the source video and remaster it into either M4V for music or MP4 for video, which is what the iPod will play exclusively. Cucusoft is one of the main companies that have been doing video and music conversion software and have probably the most extensive background in this technology. Working hard so you don't have to and all that! If your going to load your iPod with media you want to be able to watch and listen to you really want to rely on the Best iPod Transfer Software you can get, without breaking the bank that is. The transfer software will allow you to move your music and videos to your iPod in the correct format as well as your play lists and even pictures. If you already have files on your PC you can move them effortlessly to your device simply and easily or even transfer files between iPods and iTunes as well in a user friendly multi-lingual interface. Why not get the most out of your device. Your iPod was an investment and you want to get all the perks and pleasures from it. I do every night! Did I also mention listening to audiobooks?

Appearances Do Count.
A close relative of mine went into the hospital for a surgical procedure. The condition that they entered into having this done was that they needed to be put to sleep. Okay, no big deal, take a nice nap and wake up all done. No one mentioned the walking from this point to that point to do, of course, this and that, would be done in a small sheet with arms and two short sleeves. Anybody who's ever been in the hospital knows what I'm talking about. The robe that has two small ties in the back which also don't line up with your butt. That's what goes on display when you go from here to there, of course! I don't know why they couldn't find some way to use a disposable cheap scrub or something because you can buy scrubs online for the widest variety of garments, which is very convenient for health care workers where no uniform shops are local to them, as well as offering patients a better selection of wraps to wear. I know nursing scrubs wouldn't work because they'd have to cut them off of the patient and that would get expensive. I'm talking about paper scrubs or something along those lines that the hospital could buy for $3 and charge the patient $50 for ($100 if insured). I don't know about you but some of those paper garments are stronger than one might think and don't tear that easily. There is one site I know of that does have a big variety of garments for the health care field and the link is http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/. Patients and professionals should both have choices in what they wear.
I really feel mostly for the patients in the post operative area where family or close friends tend to be while the patients regain their wits. This is a really bad time for the modest patient since they usually have an IV in one arm and they're trying desperately to keep their rear ventilated gown closed with the other. Even if they made disposable extra long scrub tops or a scrub top with a reusable adhesive like paper tape that has a limited use but will work for the short time it's needed. It may seem a small issue to some but for some it is a big deal. I know paper clothes are made because many service companies use them when dealing with contaminants so that all tainted materials get disposed of with the least expense. Just something to think about. I just can't believe that I can sit around waiting to take my family member home again and think of this while people who work there all the time cannot. Maybe the laundry company offers incentives?

Watch the Pretty Skateboard Go Bump
John, one of my coworkers that's never quite grown up is a fool, or is he a tool, I guess both apply. John likes to imagine that he's a teenager still and continues to ride a skateboard out in the street in front of work at lunch every day. I personally think he wants the women to think he's a rebel or something lame like that. The street in front is part of an industrial complex so it doesn't get a lot of thru traffic so for the most part is pretty controlled safety wise, not stupid wise though. John went this way while his 'rad' board went that way. Lunchtime was a bit more exciting with the fire department and ambulance and everything, not boring by any means. John won't be nailing any half-pipes for a while, he'll be pulling up his knee sleeves, that's what he called it anyways, that brace his knee while he's in therapy now that it has multiple damage imposed on it. I'll put a link up so you can see what I mean. Like I said, John is a rebel but he's also a fool, or was that a tool!

My Smartphone is Pretty Smart
I recently purchased an upgrade on my phone to a new 4G smartphone and WOW! What an experience that became. I urge anyone going to the smartphones to get the Unlimited internet because you WILL USE IT! The first thing I downloaded was an app, application, that allowed me to set a point where I parked my car in a big lot and the internal GPS would lead me right back to it later on. No more missing car in the big parking lot syndrome. I also got 3 barcode scanners for different things like a car's VIN look-up, HASH scanner(that weird box with the strange maze object in it you see a lot now) that informs you of things like a restaurants menu or a stores hours, etc., as well as a merchandise scanner that will not only get me a price but also where I can go to get the item for the cheapest price! I even have an app from that big office products company that says "That was easy" every time I touch the red symbol. Did I mention that many of these apps are free? How cool is that. I'm sure I'll eventually grow out of that frame of mind but for now.....

Some Will Passover Easter.
I remember back to when I was little and Easter meant baskets of sweet goodies that would destroy my teeth in a heartbeat! Ahhhh, I remember, and my dentist still reminds me as well with the handing over of the filling bill. My point is that there are no legitimate holidays, or Holy Days as they were intended, that aren't attributable to that huge greeting card company and the candy/flower industry. I don't begrudge them making a living but does it have to be so obvious? I mean you have Seattle area florists, San Antonio florists, and Boston florists who send orders to each other within networks to supply recipients with bouquets of pretty Easter Lillies and other spring flowers to usher in the new season. For the Jews it's a time of remembrance of when death passed by the doors of their ancestors in Egypt. Aside from traditional food items it's somewhat hard to push flowers, cards, and candy on that type of event. Not quite a marshmallow peep moment.

Save Wherever, and Whenever, You Can
Look at the ridiculous gas prices we need to endure. I know this is a result of the cumulative effect of getting into the Middle East and has been a cancerous object for the past 10 years, but geez! If this country isn't going to develop the vast oil reserves that are in the upper mid western states than we need to find other ways to make travel more affordable such as cheaperhotel costs, cheaperthemeparkticket prices could help a bit, and even finding the cheapestautoinsurance.net effect would be to offset the fuel and engine oil prices and even the playing field a bit, at least until the fuel prices start to drop a bit. Theme parks and hotels will feel the effects sooner as more people stay home and find alternative vacation activities, like short day trips or a day at the beach, etc.

The Waving Finger of Cash
I have to admit it, there are some talented people out there earning a living. I've been watching the tax people who send teenagers out all dressed up as Lady Liberty holding signs up for tax services, some of whom do some pretty vigorous dancing at the same time. The rectangular sign people are the best though. I've seen a few who can spin that thing then twirl it, pop it off the ground, go around the neck a few times all while doing it to a beat. I even saw two guys competing against each other for the attention of drivers, not a bright idea in hindsight. The tax and restaurant people had the spotlight but the gold folks are in on it as well now. This GoldFellow cash for gold guy was waving a floaty tube like a finger all over getting everyone's attention. It's a tough business trying to get people to divert from their routine, even with a giant floaty finger, to solicit these establishments. During hard times people are forced to make hard decisions and often letting go of family jewelry becomes necessary to feed the family.
